Tshepisho Katz began her studies with the University of Free State where she obtained her BSc Geology (2010-2012) and BSc honours (2013) degrees. Her excellent academic performance earned her a membership of the Golden Key International Honour Society, UFS Chapter (2011). Between 2011-2013, she worked as a geology tutor for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd-year students. In 2016-2018, she completed her certificate in Advanced Mineral Resources Management from the University of Witwatersrand. She is currently doing her MBA qualification with North West University (2019-2020).
She is currently working as a mining and exploration geologist at Gold One, Kleinfontein mine, Modder East Operations where she started as an intern geologist in 2015 and was appointed as a junior geologist in 2016, a position she still holds.
She believes that education is a powerful tool and advocates for creating an educational platform and availing resources for school pupils to encourage continuous learning and development. She is a mentor to a number of students, from both secondary school level and University level, and has participated in career exhibitions in her local community by giving career guidance and motivation to learners.
